We know that the importance of quality photography for your wedding day cannot be understated. We know that you've spent months planning your wedding, weeks working on the details, and countless hours coordinating between all your vendors. And despite all your preparation, there is always the lingering worry that something might go wrong on your wedding day.
We know that of all the things you have to worry about on that day, the photography and your photographers should be the last things you have to worry about. And to confound this, that it's incredibly difficult to find the right photographer, let alone to find one within your budget.
That's why we are committed and try our absolute hardest to make the experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible. And that's why we put our promise in writing. We at eggsposure photography promise to always:
- Be mindful of the schedule of your event and your time with your guests.
- Be conscious of where we stand and not block any of your guests.
- Be as least disruptive as possible but still capture all the details of the day.
- Be mindful of your budget and to absolutely work within your comfort levels.
- Offer a complete refund of the photography cost if you are in any way unsatisfied with the work (and you can still keep the photos and the reprinting rights).
- Be prepared for anything that may happen!
I always say that there are two kinds of wedding photographers: those that take photos for themselves (e.g. just to sell to you later as prints, or for expanding their own portfolio, or for their own recognition/awards), and those that take photos for their clients. We at eggsposure are proud to be the latter; we do photography for the joys and memories it brings to our clients. We take it as an immense honor to be selected to be a part of and to capture such a significant experience in your lives, to be the ones responsible for capturing and documenting such an important day that happens only once between you two.
Because of that honor, we give every wedding our absolute attention and dedication. We love to move with the flow of events as they unfold, focusing on capturing emotions and expressions, and are always anticipating the next photo before it happens. And because of that honor, we do not see you as just another client, but instead as a friend. And so we are also always happy to help with your planning process as well; we've attended numerous weddings and vendors over the years, and can advise on what to look for and what to avoid.
Ultimately, when choosing your photographer, you're not just choosing the kinds of photos you'll receive, but you're also choosing someone (or some people) who can have a great impact on the experience of your wedding day.
And that's why we look forward to positively and memorably impacting your wedding too.
How far in advance do I need to book with you?
The earlier the better; shorter notice reduces availability guarantee.
How long have you been in business?
I’ve been doing amateur photography since 2000, and semi-professionally since 2008. Eggsposure Photography was launched in mid-2012.
How would you describe your photography style (e.g. traditional, photojournalistic, creative)?
I have a strong photojournalistic style. I recommend taking a look at the Gallery tab as well.
How would you describe your working style?
For weddings, my general preference is to work in the background to let you enjoy your event as much as possible. I do choreographed shots based on your needs. I avoid using flash if possible, to minimize disruptions and distractions to you and your guests.
What area do you serve?
I primarily work in the San Francisco bay area, though often work in other locales (e.g. Los Angeles) depending on my schedule. I am also available for travel!
Are you photographing other events on the same day as mine?
No, I only do one event at a time, and prefer to space out events as much as possible to provide quick turnaround.
Is it okay if other people take photos while you’re taking photos at the event?
Yes, of course! However, if possible, other people should refrain from taking any flash photography.
Can I preview the contract and policies (on things such as cancellation and rescheduling)?
Yes of course! Please contact us for a copy.
You say "we" a lot -- who is the "we" in eggsposure?
"We" generally refers to my team at eggsposure -- this usually includes myself and my wife, who assists me on weddings as a second photographer; she also doubles as an assistant/coordinator sometimes. On larger shoots that require more coverage, this would include any other photographers/assistants working for eggsposure.
My venue requires vendors to have business (liability) insurance — are you able to provide proof of insurance?
Yes, we are fully insured with business insurance coverage through Hill & Usher.
How does the process work?
After your initial contact with us, we'll schedule a brief meeting with you in person to make sure that we're the right photographers for what you're looking for, and to get to know each other a bit more. No worries if you need some time to decide on choosing your photographer; we'll pencil in your date in our calendar to temporarily hold it, and let you know if anyone else becomes interested in that date before opening it up to them. If you do decide to choose us as your photographers, you'll need to return the signed contract back to us with the retainer fee (50% of total photography cost) to secure your date.
About a month before your wedding date, we'll contact you again to arrange another meeting to go over the details and schedule of your wedding to make sure everything is in order. If possible, we would have this meeting at the venue site so that we can also do a walkthrough for potential photo locations, including any you might suggest. If you are having your rehearsal at the wedding site, we would be happy to attend and have the meeting there if possible.
About a week before your wedding date, your final payment should be made with us (we accept check, Visa/MC/Amex, or cash), and you should send us your final schedule, the names of your bridal party members, and if you have them, the contact information for your best man and/or maid of honor.
On the day of your wedding, we typically arrive 15-30 minutes prior to start of photography to get set up. If you find that you'd like more time for photography on the day of, we're happy to stay longer at an hourly rate.
Within two months after your wedding date, we'll first send you links to all your photos in online galleries that you can reshare with family/friends, or download for your own use.
If you're unsatisfied with the photos, let us know in writing within 30 days of receiving the photos in the online galleries, and if we're unable to reach a resolution, you'll be entitled to a full refund of photography costs, and you can also retain the web sized photos (1080 pixels high) and reproduction rights.
If you are satisfied with your photos, we will deliver (either in person or via mail) on DVD(s) all the photos in full resolution (up to 23 megapixels), and in web size (1080 pixels high).
We look forward to working with you!

I’m James, the lead photographer of eggsposure photography. I've always loved doing all types of photography, but more recently I’ve found that I much more enjoy taking portraits and candids of people, and thus launched eggsposure photography. I love the challenge of capturing the moments, emotions, and expressions, and thrive off of the joy from my clients when they relive their moments through the photos.
My work has been published in numerous print magazines and newspapers and has also been presented in art installations.
I started eggsposure to help others get the best photographer they can, and to make sure that they’re completely satisfied with the photos they get. I know that it can be quite frustrating when searching for the right photographer, and that it can be a huge risk in choosing one. That’s why my goal is to make the process as smooth and risk-free as possible and also why I offer a 100% money back satisfaction guarantee.
Typically, I work best in a photojournalistic style (a lot of wedding photographers use this term, but don't seem to actually know what it really means), and prefer taking candid/natural style photos. I like to work with the flow of your event as much as possible so that you can focus on enjoying your important day. One client likened it to having a "photographic ninja" around, capturing all the little moments that you would have missed.
You can be sure that I will make every effort to be as discreet and as little disruptive as possible while photographing your wedding. Also, I actually prefer to block off several days prior and after your date to ensure that I am fully rested and ready to shoot your event, and to provide the quickest turnaround possible afterward.
